From ABC News:
President Joe Biden on Wednesday announced a series of steps aimed at easing the oil supply crunch and lower gas prices, which have become a major domestic concern ahead of the November midterms.
Biden confirmed the release of 15 million barrels from the nation’s stockpile — known as the Strategic Petroleum Reserve — in December.
Back in September, Robert Rapier from oilprice.com wrote in his article ‘How Big A Problem Is America’s Shrinking Oil Reserve?’:
The Strategic Petroleum Reserve, which was established in 1975 as a reaction to the 1973 oil embargo, is now at its lowest level since December 1984…
The SPR has now been depleted since President Biden took office from 640 million barrels to 450 million barrels…
Biden, the Mythbuster, also attempted to deflect blame from the soaring gasoline prices during his administration:

About an hour after the Mythbuster’s speech, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre revealed that “everything is on the table” when it comes to a possible ban on U.S. Petroleum products:
Reporter: "How seriously is the admin considering a ban on U.S. Petroleum products?"

Reporter: “What makes you think [oil companies] are going to listen to an administration that is trying to put them out of business?"
